Dr. Roskind is also known for his work in patient and peer education. As an active presenter and participant at professional meetings, Dr. Roskind has lectured about the latest techniques available in plastic surgery. He has been involved with teaching programs at The Nassau University Medical Center, North Shore University Hospital, Cornell Medical School. He is former Voluntary Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Miami School of Medicine, and an instructor at Boston University School of Medicine.

Dr. Roskind served his country as Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy and worked as one of a three-man plastic surgery team at the Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA. While in the Navy, Dr. Roskind, participated with the University of California, San Diego in various teaching programs and travelled to Mexico to do surgery on underprivileged children with cleft lip and palate and other congenital deformities.
